Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Title, abstract and Keywords in the language of the article and English.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 11-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text follows the style standards and bibliographic requirements, namely APA norms, 7th Ed., described in “Instructions for Authors” in the section “About the Journal”
  • The instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review should be followed.
    Instructions for Blind Review
    Remove Identifying Information: Ensure that all identifying information, such as author names, affiliations, and acknowledgments, is removed from the manuscript and any supplementary materials.
    Title Page: Create a separate title page that includes the title of the manuscript, author names, affiliations, and contact information. This page should not be included in the main document.
    File Names: Ensure that the file names of the manuscript and any supplementary materials do not contain any identifying information.
    References to Previous Work: If you need to reference your own previous work, do so in the third person to avoid revealing your identity.
    Acknowledgments: Remove any acknowledgments that could reveal your identity. These can be added back in after the review process.
    Figures and Tables: Ensure that figures and tables do not contain any identifying information, such as author names or affiliations.
    Metadata: Check the document properties and metadata to ensure that no identifying information is included.
  • Add your affiliations, and your ORCID IDENTIFIER
  • The authors undertake not to send the manuscript to another journal until an eventual decision to refuse submission is made.
  • The author is aware that it is not permitted to submit a new article of his/her authorship (or in co-authorship) for evaluation while he/she has another active submission.
  • Users must agree and comply with the requirements and criteria indicated above. If the manuscript does not comply with these requirements, it will be automatically rejected.

Author Guidelines

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The authors undertake not to send the manuscript to another journal until an eventual decision to refuse submission is made.
  • The author is aware that it is not permitted to submit a new article of his/her authorship (or in co-authorship) for evaluation while he/she has another active submission.
  • The instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed. 
  • It is recommended not to exceed a total of five authors. Create a separate title page that includes the title of the manuscript, author names, affiliations, the type of contribution of each author, and contact information. This page should be submitted separately. In case of doubt about the compatibility between the number of authors and the presented results, the Editorial Team reserves the right to question the contributions and to reject the submission.
  • In the personal record you must enter the Institutional Affiliations and your ORCID identifier.
  • Articles must be written in one of the following languages: Portuguese, English, Spanish or French.
  • The articles should be between 10 and 15 pages long.
  • Title, abstract Keywords in the language of the article and English.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • APA Style is used to the reference and citation.
  • Users must agree and comply with the requirements and criteria indicated above. If the manuscript does not comply with these requirements, it will be automatically rejected.
