Vol. 19 (2014): Educação e Trabalho Social

While it is true that contemporary societies have internalized a strategic vision of education as a structured set of learning opportunities for each subject as the right to realize his humanity within specific communities, to address education as an anthropological praxis of a social reach assumes that social work is designed from human development, despite the social uncertainties, the pressures of public policies and the heterogeneity of intervention practices that this same social work often involves.
The unifying theme of issue # 19 of the Saber & Educar scientific journal intends to highlight the link between "Education" and "Social Work" in the various disciplinary, scientific and training fields in which it can be applied, and which may go from education and training of adults to social education, from education to social pedagogy, from social and educational intervention to community development, among others.
Even dismissing the many epistemological, conceptual, methodological and other dichotomies that this relationship education-social work is often tied to, in order to achieve the goal that this issue of the magazine intends, it is important, on one hand, to revisit the concepts of education and social work and, on the other hand, to discover in the multiple projects in education and social work the theoretical and practical significant intersections that will allow us to discover and redesign new configurations of the human in the common living space. Especially we invite colleagues to present results of empirical research projects and processes, which focus the specific issue.
