The place of intelligence(s) – between the relational and the artificial
European Higher Education (HE) today plays a key role in upskilling people, with EU Member States setting the target of at least 45% of 25-34-year-olds having a higher qualification by 2030. This ambition, combined with the social recognition gained by HE, makes it responsible and challenges it in several aspects, including improving the quality of teaching for teachers and the learning results of students. In fact, in October 2024, the National Council for Pedagogical Innovation in Higher Education (CNIPES) was created in Portugal, thus marking the beginning of the activity of this new body with advisory functions with the Government that integrates national and foreign experts with the mission of reflecting and promoting innovation and pedagogical training for HE teachers, listening to higher education agents and actors, preparing proposals and recommendations, and supporting actions to disseminate good practices in innovation and pedagogical training.
In this context, and taking into account this scenario, the current thematic section of the journal Saber & Educar intends to collect and disseminate the sharing of ideas and experiences on pedagogy in HE around the theme "The place of intelligence(s) – between the relational and the artificial", resulting from the 2nd International Congress Pedagogy XXI, preferably, based on the following thematic axes:
I. Teacher professional development and training;
II. Higher education policies and teaching modalities;
III. Pedagogical innovation;
IV. Emergence of artificial intelligence;
V. Emergence of relational intelligence.
